Some titles can be accessed from Nichibunken (by the SOKENDAI contract) and some titles that cannot.

Consists of over 4,000 unpublished documents from the highest level of government, left by Kusuda Minoru, chief secretary to Sato Eisaku, the longest-serving prime minister (1964–1972) in postwar Japan. Dealing with a wide range of topics from diplomatic relations to domestic issues, they are essentially “Sato Eisaku documents,” including those classified as Top Secret.

Lion Bolt is a legal document search database offered by Sapiens Inc. It contains over 4,000 full-text searchable titles (one million pages) including authoritative basic books in various fields of law, commentaries, lawmaker interpretations, old and newly published books, and journals.

One of Japan’s largest databases for journal article search. Covering works that could not be included in CiNii, it includes 14,000 annual reports, essay collections, collections of papers from symposiums and academic conferences, and so forth, for a total of 600,000 titles. The database as a whole contains about 30,000 periodical titles and 9,800,000 separate articles.

Nichigai Associates
The digital archive of the Mainichi shimbun national daily newspaper (Japanese). The site allows searching for Mainichi Shimbun articles from the newspaper’s founding in 1872 to the present (up to previous day).
Other databases, including “Mainichi yoron sāchi” [Mainichi Public Opinion Search] and “Mainichi Shimbun Shashi” [The History of the Mainichi Shimbun].

Contains a total of 397 issues of the literary journal Mita bungaku from the inaugural issue in 1910 to immediately before the end of World War II, together with some 36,000 digital images and about 17,000 records. Offers access not only to literary works and articles but advertisements within the journal as well. Authors and bibliographical details are also accessible.
